A young girl goes on an illicit scavenger hunt to find medication for her strung out grandmother.
A haunting slice of life that delicately explores the opioid crisis plaguing so many of our rural Appalachian communities. A breakout role for newcomer Jane Lewallen, this award-winning drama is meant to explore the way addiction in adults effects adolescents while starting conversations about generational cycles of poverty.
Developed and produced over the course of a month, this ten-page short narrative served as a teaching set for UNCW students under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Co-produced by our Wilmington comrades at Port City Films and Lighthouse Films.
